Broadwater Academy Trainers are an integral part of the football program. During the summer, they attend the William and Mary Sports Medicine Workshop where they complete the American Red Cross Adult CPR course and the Basic and Advanced Track in sports medicine.

These courses include the basics of extremity taping, injury prevention techniques, emergency care skills, aquatic therapy, emergency planning, and a seminar on sports medicine careers. In addition to their training during the summer, the Broadwater Trainers attend every practice and game with the Varsity football players. Beginning in August, they are responsible for equipment – everything from water bottles to extra gear – in addition to getting ready for games and cleaning up after games.

On Saturdays before home games, they begin their preparation by lining the fields. Trainers maintain this schedule throughout all of our athletic seasons.Their continuous support of the players and coaches makes the Broadwater trainers vital members of the team.

If you have any questions about our student trainer program, contact our trainer advisor, Kim Coates ( or ext. 123).
