*ALL UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR OWN ELECTRONIC DEVICE.*

Durability, mobility, and ease of use are the key features to consider. Touch screens, laptops that fold flat, and other bells and whistles really just get in the way, are often expensive, and routinely break. Kids will want just basic functionality– a full size keyboard, wireless capability, good battery life, and the ability to run Chrome. They will be happiest if their computers easily fit in their backpacks and, since it’s middle school, these devices need to be tough, too.

Rather than spend money on all the extras, you might consider a basic, solid Chromebook. If you want to spend a little more, consider getting a second charger (one for home and one for the backpack). Instead of getting sucked in to buying all those expensive add-ons, buy them a bunch of laptop stickers. Stickers are the best.
