Campus Life

Broadwater Academy is an independent college preparatory school serving students in Grades Pre-K through Twelve. Through a rigorous program of academics, arts, and athletics, Broadwater develops the next generation of civic minded leaders and productive citizens. Broadwater graduates demonstrate a sense of excellence, honor, responsibility, and a lifetime love of learning.

Broadwater Academy provides a wide range of activities for its students. Not counting Broadwater’s arts and athletic programs, our students are involved in dozens of extra-curricular clubs and activities. In addition to our Middle and Upper School club and activity offerings, our Lower School students may participate in flag football, Pee Wee basketball, chorus, Robotics, and craft, science, and environmental clubs and activities.

As a college preparatory school, Broadwater sets high standards for its students. Our 100% college acceptance rate and SAT scores well above the State average set us apart from other area schools. The 27 members of the 2010 graduating class received more than $1,000,000 in merit scholarships and were accepted into more than 50 colleges and universities, including Princeton, Cornell, Swarthmore, and the University of Virginia.

Broadwater’s dedication to community service instills in our students a sense of caring and responsibility while giving them the opportunity to apply their academic studies and develop leadership skills that allow them to become productive members of society. Last year’s students completed more than 1,500 hours of community service. It is our goal that students’ meaningful contributions will enhance academic achievement and cultivate a lifetime of service.
